Jewellery for real life, not a glass case
MIA started at a bedroom table in 2020 and grew into a family-run business with a permanent home at Westfield Stratford. But behind that growth are some of the most beautiful and difficult chapters of my life. MIA is female-founded and South Asian-owned, built while I was becoming a mother — through pregnancy, postpartum, sleepless nights, miscarriage, grief, finding the courage to try again, and pregnancy all over again. There were days I packed orders through relentless nausea, turned up to pop-ups exhausted, managed a team between appointments and tried to be present as a mum while quietly carrying things no one else could see. MIA kept moving, even on the days when I felt like I couldn’t.

Now, entering another chapter of motherhood with two little ones under two, MIA means so much more to me than jewellery. It represents resilience, rebuilding and the strength women somehow find when life asks everything of us at once. Every piece is tarnish-free, water resistant and hypoallergenic — made to survive the school run, the boardroom and everything after. From that little bedroom table to Westfield Stratford, pop-ups across London and corporate events with names like Barclays and Deutsche Bank, every milestone carries a piece of my story — and a reminder that behind every small business is a person, a family and often a journey you never get to see.
